Module 8 - Extending Transformations: Describes how to design extended transformations for the Transform Data Task. To implement these extended transformations, the module presents how to create Microsoft® ActiveX® script transformations, incorporate lookup queries, design SQL solutions, and use the functionality of the multiphase data pump. Module 9 - Implementing Data Driven Query Solutions: Explains how to use the Data Driven Query (DDQ) Task to perform flexible SQL operations on data, such as deletes, inserts, updates, and user-defined queries. The module also describes best practices for using the DDQ Task. Module 10 - Executing Packages: Introduces how to execute packages by using a variety of package execution methods. The module describes how to execute modular packages by using the Execute Package Task in an outer package. The module also describes how to log package executions to SQL Server and how to schedule DTS packages. Module 11 - Case Study-Populating the Shipments Star: Provides students with the opportunity to apply DTS design and implementation concepts from modules 1-10 to a specific data warehousing case study by populating a star schema.
