Audience This course is targeted for database developers, database architects, and application developers who design and implement data warehouse decision support systems. Scope This course is designed to provide an introduction to populating data warehouses. Examples and labs describe data load tasks in detail. Students and instructors will apply Data Transformation Services (DTS) to solve each data load task. Objectives At the end of this course, the student will be able to:· 1. Describe how Data Transformation Services (DTS) applies to the data warehouse system. 2. Define the components of data warehouse star schema. 3. Describe how to populate star schema dimension tables and fact tables. 4. Create DTS packages by using the DTS Import/Export Wizard. 5. Design DTS packages by using DTS Package Designer.
