Course Title: Data Warehousing/Business Intelligence Course Hours: 60 Hours Total DW/BI (I) - ETL (Extract/Transformation/Load) Business Solution By defining how to build Data Transformation Services (DTS) packages that populate star schemas, presenting how to execute and save these packages, showing how to manage DTS packages, and presenting best practices for designing DTS packages, students will gradually achieve a complete and correct understanding of how to use DTS to address various data load scenarios. The building process includes a lot of demonstrations and labs that focus on how to build, execute, and manage DTS packages that populate dimension tables and fact tables. Students take home many useful examples to adapt to their own data warehousing environments. Description This course provides students with the skills to apply Data Transformation Services (DTS) to populating data warehouse star schemas. This course is not intended to teach students how to design data warehouses. Rather, it focuses on the population of specific structures in the data warehouse called star schemas. While this course examines DTS within the context of a data warehouse, the course also meets the needs of students interested in using DTS in non-data warehousing applications. |
