This course will provide a hands-on approach to learning Java Technology, one of the most popular and widely adopted languages and platform supported by big companies such as SUN, IBM, Oracle, Cisco, etc. It will cover 2 sections:
· Java Language
· Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE)

The course has 27 lectures and two lectures will be held each week. Each lecture is three hours long. There are 1 lab and multiple in-class exercises/demos in each lecture. In order to let student exposed to real work problems, the course will offer two practical projects: Time Card Web application and Shopping Cart Web application. These labs and exercises help students to understand the basic concept of Java language and Java platform. The projects will challenge students to solve the real world problems using the concepts learned in the class. Also these projects will demonstrate students the life cycle of developing Java-base software. After this course, the students should be very confident in solving real-world problems using Java and J2EE and in their job interviews to answer the questions about Java and J2EE fundamentals.
