Stock Online Trading System

This is designed for students to obtain a real world project life cycle experience. By completing the project students will get familiar with Oracle database client-server environment and obtain comprehensive knowledge and experience of database design, application development (both backend and front-end) and database administration. An well-organized teaching method will be performed in each class. Students will also get scripts from instructor for simulation and utilization in their future company work.

Class1: Database design and creation

Logical design

Store data in tables --- normalization
Entity-Relation diagram and DDL generation using ERwin.

Physical creation

Database structure concepts (data files, control files, log files)
Oracle database client-server environment.
Database parameter files.
Creation of instant.
Creation of tablespace and rollback segments.
Installation of Oracle client.
SQL*Net configuration in client/server environment.
Monitor database using Storage Manager, Schema Manager, Topsession and so on.
Database dictionary, alert file, log file and trace file readings.
